In addition to serving as the CEO and Pageant Director of the Miss Black Collegiate USA Scholarship Pageant ™, Ms. Darlene Aiken is President/CEO of Inner Beauty Solutions, Inc.® “You’re Beautiful On The Outside When You Recognize your Beauty On The Inside!”®.
Inner Beauty Solutions was founded in 2001, by Ms. Aiken in effort to foster positive self-esteem within the lives of girls and young ladies. Since the founding of her company, she has successfully touched the lives of girls throughout the world with her workshops, programs, and international publications. Ms. Aiken has also been sought after to pen the behavioral handbook for backstage employees and volunteers for producers of concerts for artists such as Keyshia Cole, G-Unit, Elephant Man, Ne-Yo, Bobby Valentino, Fat Joe, Mobb Deep, and others. She has served as Keynote Speaker and Expert Panelist for a plethora of events, Youth Forums, and Retreats for community & faith-based organizations, as well as Senators, Councilmen, Legislators, and others that have hosted youth events.
Seriously committed to community service, in 2004, she spearheaded a major voter registration drive at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum which seats approximately 16,000. Her efforts were assisted by various branches and affiliates of the Urban League, NAACP, community leaders, detectives, business owners, Employees of Sony, & major banking entities. The drive procured close to 8,000 newly registered voters.
Ms. Aiken is an adjunct professor where she teaches personal growth, freshman seminar, juvenile justice, and sociology courses at Suffolk County Community College and has taught at St. Francis College, as well.
In addition to having experience in thr fields of acting and modeling, Ms. Aiken has participated in fashion shows and pageants since she was six years old. She has also coordinated a mulitutde of fashion shows here in the U. S. As well as overseas in Ghana, West Africa.
Ms. Aiken has held key positions in chapters of organizations such as the Links, Inc., College Executive Boards, and Rotary Club. In fact, she served as the first Black woman President of her Rotary chapter and during her reign spearheaded a hugely successful Gift of Life and literacy program.
Darlene has over two decades of professional experience which includes being a former NYC Juvenile Justice Assessment Probation Officer, Drug Counselor, College Admissions Administrator, & NJCAA Head Women’s Volleyball Coach. Her vast experience, community service, and business acumen has garnered her several awards which include, Inspiring Woman from the WNBA and New York Liberty, Beacon of Light from a prestigious women’s organization, the Police Athletic Club, the Dean’s Alumnus Award from her undergraduate Alma Mater, various high schools throughout NYC and Long Island, Long Island Press Newspaper, a Proclamation and Certificates of Appreciation from both Nassau & Suffolk County Executives, as well as being honored as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business on Long Island twice.
Ms. Aiken is currently a proud member of Christian Cultural Center and the American Sociological Association.
